On May 12th, the academic seminar on "Research on Ancient Chinese Agricultural Books" was held at Wuhan University. This seminar was hosted by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University and organized by the School of Information Management and the project team of the National Social Science Fund's major bidding project "Collection, Compilation, and Research of Ancient Chinese Agricultural Books".
This seminar was co-hosted by the Laboratory of Intelligent Computing for Cultural Heritage of Wuhan University under the Ministry of Education, and the Semantic Publishing and Knowledge Service Laboratory of the National Press and Publication Administration. The seminar received 72 papers from experts and scholars from 37 well-known universities across the country, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as 6 publishing houses such as the National Library Press and Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House, and 4 libraries including the Hubei Provincial Library. Experts, scholars, and postgraduates gathered together to discuss the significance and value of research on ancient Chinese agricultural books.
It is reported that this seminar also had four parallel sub-forums, namely ancient agricultural book versions and storage distribution, ancient agricultural book compilation, ancient agricultural book publishing and dissemination, and the evolution and utilization of ancient agricultural and agricultural knowledge. Experts, scholars, and postgraduates attending the seminar gave special reports and had in-depth discussions on different topics in each sub-forum.
