Professor Hong Junhao Lectured on Interpretation of American Election and Its Significance on Communication Studies

On November 11, professor Hong Junhao, professor from the Department of Communication of New York State University at Buffalo and researcher of Fairbank Center of Harvard University, was invited to the School of Journalism and Communication of Wuhan University and made a lecture entitled “the Impact of US Media on this Presidential Election and its Theoretical Implications”.

 

In his lecture, Professor Hong Junhao covered the United States presidential election system, the particular feature of this election from the previous ones, the relationship between old and new media in this US presidential election and communication theory etc.,.

 

In the end, Professor Hong put forward several questions from the perspective of journalism and communication, such as the changes of the silent spiral theory in the new media environment, the causes of public opinion rollover phenomenon and how to obtain more accurate polling data.
