French Sinologist Joël Bellassen Lectured on Intercultural Communication

On November 11, 2016, French Sinologist Joël Bellassen was invited to the Luojia Forum for the 151thLecture, with "Several Problems in Cross-Cultural Communication - Take the International Spread of Chinese Language and Culture as an Example" as the title of the report.

 

According to Joël Bellassen, with the development of globalization and information technology, international exchanges are becoming more frequent and more important. Due to differences in cultures, educational traditions and ways of thinking, there often arise some problems in cross-cultural communication, leading to failure of communication, misunderstanding and conflict. Therefore, having some of the cross-cultural communication knowledge is particularly important nowadays.

 

Joël Bellassen is the former Inspector General in the field of Chinese Language Teaching at the Ministry of Education in France, PhD supervisor of the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales, President of the European Chinese Teaching Association, Vice President of the World Chinese Teaching Association and the Honorary President of the French Association of Chinese Language Teachers. He is also the foreign partner invited by the National Cultural Soft Power Research Collaborative Innovation Center of Wuhan University and editorial board member of theStudies On Cultural Soft Power.
