Prof. Karl-Heinz Pohl from Trier University in Germany Came to WHU for Academic Report

On November 2, 2016, Prof. Karl-Heinz Pohl, world famous sinologist and esthetician of the University of Trier in Germany, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Chinese Culture and Aesthetics in the Era of Globalization" in the School of Philosophy of our university.

In his report, Prof. Karl-Heinz Pohl explored the aesthetics of Chinese culture from the traditional one to the present one in the light of the discussion of culture and identity in today's international academic circles. He speculated that the current encounter between Chinese and Western cultures is only a new dimension of the era of globalization, artists will continue to adjust themselves in different cultures and traditions and their multiple identities, which may lead to mixed model form of new art and aesthetics.
