Domestic and Foreign Experts Discuss Digital Publishing Industry Development

From October 22 to 23, 2016, the 5^thInternational Conference on Publishing Industry and Publishing Education in the Digital Age, which was jointly organized by the Wuhan University, Pace University in the United States, Higher Education Press Co., Ltd., was held in Wuhan. The opening ceremony was presided by Prof. Xu Lifang, Director of the Department of Publishing Science, School of Information Management of WHU.

The conference covered two main topics, namely development of digital publishing industry, and digital publishing talent training. The conference included more than 10 sub-topics such as publishing industry in digital era, digital publishing theory and publishing education in digital era. Scholars explored in-depth the countermeasures publishing industry and higher education publishing should adopt to respond to the digital technology and Internet technology. Dean Fang Qing of the School of Information Management and other experts and scholars delivered reports followed by four sub-forums: the Digital Publishing Industry (I, II), Publishing Education in the Digital Age, Research and Others, and the Graduate Students Forum.
