Dutch Sinologist Prof. Leonard Blussé Visited the School of History

On October 20, 2016, Prof. Leonard Blussé -- famous Sinologist, overseas Chinese history research expert from the Leiden University in Netherlands, visited our School of History.

In the conference room of the School of History, Prof. Leonard Blussé conducted in-depth academic exchanges with Prof. Zhang Jianmin and Prof. Yang Guo'an from the School of History of WHU, covering such areas as social history, overseas Chinese history and Chinese-foreign exchange history. Professor Leonard Blussé also briefed the faculties and students on the important historical data of the A history of the Chinese of Jakarta/Batavia – an 18th-century studies on Indonesian Chinese, and related research achievements.

Professor Blussé came to China at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture's "Oriental Culture Research Program". Mr. Zhang Xiaolan, Director of the Center for Foreign Cultural Communication of the Chinese Arts and Entertainment Group, Mr. Zhang Yajin, Director of the Department of Foreign Cultural Relations of the Ministry of Culture, accompanied Professor Blussé’s visit.  (School of History  Feng Huixin)
