Mr. Liang Weinian, Standing Committee of Hubei provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department of Hubei Province, recently went to Wuchang District for the survey and investigation work of the pilot project “Boosting Cultural Consumption of Urban and Rural Residents”, and highly recognized the design work of the pilot project conducted by National Institute of Culture Development in Wuhan University.
Professor Fu Caiwu, Dean of the National Institute of Culture Development in Wuhan University, attended the meeting as the chief expert for the pilot project policy design. He introduced the background for the project of "Boosting Cultural Consumption of Urban and Rural Residents" in 2015 conduced by the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Finance, the main policy content of Wuchang District as the pilot district in Central China, the effect of the pilot as well as the policy advices for the cultural consumption pilot expansion in 2016.
Mr. Liang Weinian said that a sound system research and design should be put in place in light of new situation and new requirements in 2016 regarding the expansion of cultural consumption pilot.
In 2015, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance, the National Institute of Cultural Development in Wuhan University assumed the task of system design for the pilot of "Boosting Cultural Consumption of Urban and Rural Residents"(Central China). From September 2015 to February 2016, the pilot project was implemented in Wuchang and Hefei respectively, and it has achieved good results. In May 2016, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance decided to further implement this project.
