Chinese and Foreign Experts in Environmental Law Gathered in WHU

From September 9 to 10, the International Conference on Compliance and Enforcement of Environmental Law and 4th Sino-European Conference on Environmental Law were held in Wuhan University, 40 Chinese and foreign experts gathered together to discuss issues related to compliance and enforcement of environmental law.

The meeting attracted the attendance of experts from well-known domestic and foreign universities and law firms, such as Ghent University in Belgium, University of California in Los Angeles, Southern New Hampshire University, Environmental Law Institute, Free University of Berlin, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Wuhan University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law etc.

The opening ceremony was held in the morning of September 9. Professor Ben Boer, a scholar under the Recruitment Program of Global Experts from the Research Institute of International Law, chaired the meeting. Professor Feng Guo, Dean of the School of Law, Professor Qin Tianbao, Director of the Research Institute of Environmental Law, Professor Frank Maes from Ghent University delivered opening speeches followed by panel discussions.
