Lawrence Carin, Vice President of Duke University discusses Collaboration with Institute of Quality Development Strategy

    On October 14, Professor Lawrence Carin, Vice President of Duke University visited Institute of Quality Development Strategy of Wuhan University  with the company of Academician Liu Jingnan, President of Duke University in Kunshan.

    Cheng Hong, dean of Institute of Quality Development Strategy of Wuhan University , introduced issues concerning the establishment of International Quality Management Research Center. He said that the Center would become a quality management research institution with international profile; it aims to provide an international exchange platform for issues relating to China. As China is facing the challenges of economic and social transformation, the Center will maintain cooperation with relevant decision-making authorities, academic institutions, NGO and other enterprises. 

    Professor Lawrence Carin agreed on the five major working areas of this International Quality Management Research Center, namely, product quality, consumer quality protection, quality of higher education etc., and he said that he would facilitate the academic research activities between Duke University and Wuhan University as soon as possible.
