The High-level Forum on the Innovation and Development of Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Journals held in Wuhan

    On October 17,The High-level Forum on the Innovation and Development of Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Journals organized by the Editorial department of Wuhan University Journal of Humanities and Social Science and Economic Review was held in Wuhan. Hundreds of people including journal chief editors from well-known universities,experts and scholars from social sciences and humanities attended the forum, and they had heated discussion on the topic of Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Journals Innovation and Development in the Big Data Era.

    In this high-level forum, Yu Yang, chief editor of Xinhua Digest expounded the relationship between big dataand humanities and social science research centering on the theme of Humanities and Social Sciences Research in the Big Data Era. In a speech entitled Reflections of the Existence of Academic Journals in the Era of Internet, KeJinhua, deputy editor of China Social Science Digest, pointed out that traditional journals should have their own ideal of ​​the magazine, unique value pursuit and academic taste, change their route of transmission, and seek further development in transition. Gao Zilong, chief editor of Information Center for Social Sciences, RUC, introduced periodical digital transition combining the work of the Center. Zhong Weimin, executive vice-editor-in-chief of Journal of Tsinghua University,elaborated on the University Academic Journals under the Dual Pressure of System and Technology. Professor Ding Sixin from the School of Philosophy of Wuhan University talked about the impact of big data on humanities scholars from a philosophical perspective.

    In the afternoon, panel discussions entitled Academic Quality and Influence of University Journals in the Era of Big Data and Challenges and Strategies faced by Wuhan University Journal in the Era of Big Data and doctoral panel session entitled Growth and Development were conducted respectively.
