On September 25, Wuhan University and the world-renowned publishing group SAGE held a signing ceremony, and the two sides will cooperate in publishing Chinese Sociological Dialog. Leader from Academy of Humanities and Social Science and Paul.M.Evans, president of the Asia-Pacific region of SAGE Publishing Company, signed a cooperation agreement. Lin Zeng, dean of the Sociology Department, has presided over the ceremony.
Chinese Sociological Dialog (referred CSD) is the only official English magazine of the Chinese Sociological Association and it will be available in 2016. The magazine aims to provide a platform for academic exchanges for Chinese or even world sociological circle. It will help to promote the “Chinese voice” of Chinese scholars to be heard in the world, while facilitating the international scholars to have a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese sociology. The journal editorial board will be consisted of well-known sociologist from home and abroad, and it will adopt anonymous peer-review.
After the signing ceremony, Paul Evans delivered a lecture entitled What Makes a New Journal Successful? Participants discussed on the issue of soliciting contributions and editing of humanities and social sciences journals. In the afternoon, Paul Evans made another lecture entitled Publishing in the Digital Age - Implications for authors, sharing suggestions of choosing topic for international academic paper, writing, publication, evaluation and academic exchanges from the perspective of the process of publishing papers.
