Professor Sienho Yee Attends Informal Experts Meeting on Customary International Law

     From August 27 to 28, Professor Sienho Yee, chief expert of Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies attended the 4^th informal experts meeting on Identification of Customary International Law held in Malaysia organized by Asian-African Legal Consultative Committee (AALCO). At the meeting, he and Mr. Wood, Special Rapporteur of the UN Commission on International Law, debated on the Identification of Customary International Law.

    Sienho Yee was elected as a Special Rapporteur of AALCO Expert Group in September 2014, and in 2015, he submitted a report on identification of customary international law of the United Nations Commission, which was later approved by the Expert Group. At this meeting, as the Special Rapporteur of the UN Commission on International Law, Mr. Wood commented on the work of informal expert group of on the AALCO, and Professor Yee was responsible for reply and defense – this link was the first carried out in this part of the work of the organizations.
