[Academic Conference] The 7th High-end Forum on China Internet Rule of Law Held at Wuhan University

News network (Reporters: Chen Xu and Bi Yifei) On November 16, the 7th High-end Forum on China Internet Rule of Law was held in Wuhan. Experts and scholars in the field of internet governance from Peking University, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Tsinghua University, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, along with practitioners from legal sectors and representatives of domestic high-tech enterprises, gathered at Wuhan University to engage in in-depth discussions on the theme of "The Era's Demands and Theoretical Construction of a Data Infrastructure System."

The forum was hosted by the School of Law at Wuhan University, Wuhan University’s Institute of Cyber Governance, Center for Studies of Information Resources, Digital Ecology and Governance Research Center, and the Academy of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies at Wuhan University. It was co-organized by the China Internet Governance Forum and DeHeng Law Offices (Wuhan). The event featured three parallel sub-forums focusing on "Building a Data Security Protection System," "Constructing Systems for Data Ownership, Circulation, and Utilization," and "Developing Other Infrastructure Data Systems," where participants engaged in intensive discussions.

Founded in April 2018, Wuhan University’s Institute of Cyber Governance was designated as the "Research Base for International Governance of Cyberspace" by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Education in July of the same year. The institute has achieved groundbreaking research outcomes in areas such as internet rule of law, modernization of the cyber governance system and capabilities, data governance and foundational system construction, and digital economy governance, making significant contributions to national internet security. Additionally, the institute actively participates in international exchanges, enhancing the global influence of China’s legal theories and contributing insights to the formulation of international rules for cyberspace.
