[Luojia Lecture] Professor Wang Xinyan Explores “Chinese Modernization and New Forms of Human Civilization”

On November 14, Professor Wang Xinyan, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University, delivered a lecture titled “Chinese Modernization and New Forms of Human Civilization” at the 467th Luojia Lecture. Wuhan University Vice President Zhu Deyou presented Professor Wang with a commemorative plaque, and Professor Li Dianlai, Dean of the School of Philosophy, hosted the event.

In his lecture, Professor Wang delved into the global historical context of modernization, exploring China’s response to the global modernization. He addressed key questions such as “What new forms of human civilization has Chinese modernization created?” and “How has Chinese modernization made this possible?”

The lecture was co-hosted by Wuhan University’s Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Philosophy. Over 100 attendees participated in the event.

Professor Wang Xinyan is a renowned scholar in the field of Marxist philosophy in China and a leading figure in the study of the Sinicization of Marxist philosophy. He has long been engaged in research on the fundamental theories of Marxist philosophy and its Sinicization. Over the years, he has led more than 20 teaching and research projects at the provincial and ministerial levels or above, including major projects funded by the National Social Science Foundation. Professor Wang served as the chief editor of the 20-volume Complete Works of Li Da and has authored and edited over 30 books and textbooks, including Science: The Unity of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty, Globalization, Modernization, and the Sinicization of Marxist Philosophy, The Sinicization of Marxist Philosophy: Tradition and Innovation, The Sinicization of Marxist Philosophy: Theory and Methodology, and The Essence and Mechanism of Cognition. He has published more than 300 academic papers in domestic and international journals and has received over 40 teaching and research awards at the provincial and ministerial levels or higher.
