News network (Reporter: Zhu Rui) The 7th International Symposium on Publishing Industry Development and Talent Training in the Digital Intelligence Era was held at Wuhan University from November 8 to 9. Vice Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University Chu Longqiang and Vice President of the Chinese Society of Editors Sun Wenke attended the event.
The symposium featured four parallel forums under the themes of “Building Foundational Theories and Innovating Talent Training in the Digital Intelligence Era,” “Digital Intelligence Empowerment and Deep Integration in Publishing,” “Academic Publishing and Knowledge Production Driven by Digital Intelligence,” and “Writing, Reading, and Communication in the Context of Digital Media.” Additionally, three specialized workshops were held, focusing on “The Function, Structure, and Design Landscape of Contemporary E-Books,” “Pathways and Practices in Publishing Quality Management in the New Era,” and “Construction of Professional Degree Programs in Publishing Studies and High-Quality Development of Publishing Science.”
The symposium was initiated in 2006 by Wuhan University, Pace University, and Higher Education Press. This year’s symposium was hosted by Wuhan University’s School of Information Management, Publishing Research Institute, Chinese Editorials magazine, and Publishing Journal editorial office, with guidance and support from the Publishing Association of China, Chinese Society of Editors, and China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association. More than 200 representatives from universities, research institutes, and publishing enterprises across the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Singapore, and Taiwan participated in the event.
