News Network (Correspondent: An Ying) On August 29, to commemorate the 100th birthday of Mr. Liang Xi, the founder of international organizational law in China, the School of Law, Academy of International Law and Global Governance, and Institute of International Law Research of Wuhan University jointly held an academic seminar.
Many experts and scholars, disciples of Mr. Liang, and representatives of teachers and students attended the seminar. The seminar advocated for taking Mr. Liang and other senior international law pioneers as models, inheriting Mr. Liang’s patriotism and pragmatic scholarly tradition, further promoting the spirit of "Virtue, Erudition, Dedication and Gregariousness", and jointly advancing global governance, enhancing foreign-related rule of law, and striving to cultivate more leading talents in international organizations and internationalization.
During the keynote session, Huang Huikang from Wuhan University delivered a keynote speech titled "Actively Participate in the Reform of the Global Governance System to Promote Good Global Governance with Good International Law." Professor Gao Zhiguo from the Center of National Sovereignty and Maritime Rights Collaborative Innovation delivered a keynote speech on "UN Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) and the Application for the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf in the South China Sea." Professor Yu Minyou from Wuhan University presided over the opening ceremony and keynote speeches.
In the following discussion session, 16 participating experts delivered speeches on two topics: "China and International Organizations and International Law: Past, Present, and Future" and "New Trends in the Development of Contemporary International Organizations and International Law."
