On the morning of May 21st, Professor Meng Tianguang, a tenured professor at Tsinghua University, was invited to the Changjiang Forum at Wuhan University, where he delivered an academic lecture titled "Information Politics: The Information Foundation of State Governance."
Professor Meng Tianguang gave a report titled “Information Politics: The Information Foundation of State Governance” and he interpreted the formation and strengthening of national information capabilities in the digital era. He delved into research topics such as the research objects, theoretical concepts, and research paradigms brought about by the digital transformation of state governance, attempting to provide answers to the profound question of "how to understand state governance in the digital age". The lecture revolves around the following four aspects: 1. Digital Era State Governance: Governance of nations in the digital age.2. Rise of Information Politics: Digital governance as a manifestation of information capabilities.3. Technological Empowerment: Digital participation as an information channel.4. Empowered Society and Governance Transformation: Governance transformation in the context of an empowered society and as an information mechanism.
After Professor Meng's thematic presentation, the attending teachers and students engaged in interactive discussions with Professor Meng on topics such as digital rural development, ethics in digital governance, the transformation of government organizational forms in digital governance, and critical thinking in digital governance.
