[Journal Construction] Wuhan University Holds an Exchange Meeting to Assess the Construction of International Journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences

On May 17th, the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciencesof Wuhan University organized an annual evaluation and exchange meeting on the construction of international journals.

Representatives from various journals reported on the development of their respective journals in 2022 from multiple aspects, including journal profiles, editorial processes, publishing management, opportunities and challenges, and future development plans. The School of Philosophy formulated the "Management Measures for English Journals of the School of Philosophy of Wuhan University." Four journals, namely "Jianbo", "China journal of Environmental Law", "Data and Information Management", and "Journal of Social and Political Philosophy" were selected as "Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Journals included in the AMI Comprehensive Evaluation of Foreign Journals" (AMI stands for Academic Mega Index). Starting from 2023, "Jianbo" became an open access journal. The high-level international journals in the humanities at our university have initially formed a group effect.

In recent years, our university has vigorously promoted the construction of international journals in the humanities and social sciences, focusing on cultivating several international academic journals. Through activities such as the ongoing first-class journal funding program, joint editor-in-chief meetings, editor salons, and expert reviews from both within and outside the university, the enthusiasm, visibility, and influence of the construction of humanities journals have significantly increased.
