【Academic Trends】More Than 30 Experts Gathered at the Luojia Financial Forum and the 40th Anniversary Academic Seminar of the Department of Finance at Wuhan University

On March 25th, the 6th Luojia Financial Forum and the 40th Anniversary Academic Seminar of the Department of Finance at Wuhan University were held. Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, Liang Qi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nankai University, Fang Ying, Assistant President of Xiamen University, Yang Shenggang, Former Vice President of Hunan University, Wu Weixing, Vice President of the University of International Business and Economics, Zhou Mingshan, Vice President of Central South University of Economics and Law, Yin Zhichao, Vice President of Capital University of Economics and Trade, and Yi Xingjian, Vice President of Guangdong University of Finance attended the meeting. Nearly 200 experts and scholars in the field of finance from over 30 universities, including Tsinghua University and Peking University, as well as teachers and students from our university, attended the conference.

In his speech, Shen Zhuanghai stated that facing the major strategic needs of our country, the finance discipline should actively respond to the questions raised by "China, the world, the times, and the people". The theme of this forum is "Finance Assists High Quality Economic Development", which has strong theoretical and practical significance. Improving the compatibility between financial supply and the real economy, guiding financial resources to better support key areas and weak links of economic development, is particularly important for unleashing the support effect of finance on the real economy.

Nie Jun, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Wuhan University, stated that China is currently in a critical period of transforming its economic growth model, and stimulating new economic vitality requires new ideas and methods. Finance is the lifeblood of the real economy, and serving the real economy is the duty and purpose of finance, as well as the fundamental measure to prevent financial risks.

The Luojia Financial Forum is a brand academic forum organized by the School of Economics and Management, which aimed at strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the financial field in China, and promoting prosperity and development in the financial field. The theme of this forum is "Accurate and Targeted Assistance of Finance in High Quality Economic Development". 23 academic reports and 1 roundtable forum were held, focusing on key issues such as corporate social responsibility and corporate value, corporate financing costs and credit allocation efficiency, retirement and household financial fragility, central bank communication and bank risk taking, new drug approval system and innovation of biopharmaceutical enterprises, network security risks and economic consequences, and credit risk of urban investment companies, the construction of financial disciplines and high-quality economic development.
