(Correspondents: Wang Lin and Zhang Jinchao) On March 16th, the second seminar on "Publishing Perspectives" in 2023 was held at Wuhan University. The theme of this seminar is "following the spirit of the 20th National Congress to promote the high-quality development of the publishing industry - promoting the high-quality development of publishing think tanks". The seminar has a main forum and three parallel sessions, and it is held both online and offline. Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Wuhan University Party Committee, responsible person of 16 selected institutions for the 2022 high-quality development plan of publishing think tanks, representatives of some universities, publishing units, and research institutions, representatives of some publishing houses in Hubei Province, teachers, and students from the School of Information Management at Wuhan University participated in the event.

In his opening speech, Shen Zhuanghai pointed out that the Wuhan University Publishing Think Tank needs to continuously improve its compatibility with the urgent needs of economic and social development, its contribution to serving major national strategic needs, and enhancing the sense of gain of the people.

On the morning of March 16th, the main forum focused on "High quality development of publishing think tanks", introduced the overall situation of publishing think tank development, and released some research results of think tanks. In the afternoon, three parallel sessions were held to discuss three themes, namely "leveraging the decision-making and consulting role of publishing think tanks", "optimizing publishing think tanks in university publishing majors", and "promoting publishing practice innovation through publishing think tanks". More than 20 guests attended the seminar and delivered speeches.

In the parallel session focusing on "leveraging the decision-making and consulting role of publishing think tanks", participants believed that the construction of publishing think tanks should not only have a firm hold of their positioning, but also provide policy references for relevant management departments in terms of strategic issues and public policies; they should also focus on researching related issues in the publishing industry, and contribute wisdom to the development of the industry.

In the parallel session with the theme of "optimizing publishing think tanks for university publishing majors", participants stated that university publishing think tanks should promote in-depth integration of politics, industry, academia, research and application, integrate quality resources, and promote high-quality development of publishing think tanks, fully leveraging the functions and value of university publishing think tanks.

At the parallel session focusing on "promoting publishing practice innovation through publishing think tanks", participants stated that with the continuous breakthroughs in modern information technologies such as the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence, the digital economy is thriving, and the publishing industry is also facing new opportunities for transformation and upgrading. Publishing think tanks should take on the important mission of promoting innovative development in the publishing industry, seeking feasible innovation paths from new perspectives and approaches, empowering the research and decision-making process of publishing think tanks with digital intelligence, and effectively promoting innovation and development in the publishing industry.
