[Academic Discussion] Representatives of more than 120 Universities Discuss Intellectual Property Information Services

From November 11 to 12, the 4th Annual Conference of University Intellectual Property Information Service Center Alliance and University Intellectual Property Information Service Seminar was held online. Wu Ping, Vice President of Wuhan University attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Wu Ping pointed out that intellectual property work is an important indicator that reflects the level of scientific research and innovation of universities. Under the background of growing importance of intellectual property work, enhancing the awareness of intellectual property rights of teachers and students and deepening the level of intellectual property information services is very important to the implementation of national and regional intellectual property strategy, and to the needs of the rapid development of Wuhan University. In recent years, Wuhan University has successively issued a series of documents and adopted a number of measures to promote the output and application of independent intellectual property rights.

At the annual meeting of the alliance, the representatives listened to the annual work report made by the alliance secretariat. The governing unit of the alliance discussed and voted to pass the application of 10 universities’ intellectual property information service centers including Huazhong Agricultural University and Shandong University to join the alliance.

At the seminar, scholars discussed topics such as "Construction of Intellectual Property Information Service Centers in Universities", "Guidelines for Building a Powerful Country with Intellectual Property Rights (2021-2035)", and "Intellectual Property Information Services Boosting the High-quality Transformation and Development of the National Economy", and shared their respective excellent cases in intellectual property information services. The relevant person in charge said that through sharing and exchanges, the meeting has provided a reference for the intellectual property information services of various universities.
