From October 9 to 12, 2019, the "Cross-Strait Trade and Development Symposium" was successfully held at the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University. This Symposium was supported and funded by the Ministry of Education on Taiwan's educational exchange program, the purpose of which is to implement the concept of "People on both sides of the Taiwan Straits are all of one family", to promote a deeper understanding of the history and culture of the Chinese nation among Taiwan's educational circle and young students, and to consolidate and deepen the political, economic, cultural and social foundation ofpeacefuldevelopment cross-straitrelations.
In the symposium, teachers and students of both sides discussed the theme of "economic impact of China-US trade friction on the cross-strait economy" and "the situation of undergraduate and postgraduate education across the Taiwan Straits" etc. As Taiwanese teacher representatives working in Wuhan, Zhuang Ejia from the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University and Professor Wang Jianwei from Hubei University of Economics have introduced their respective teaching and research situation, and conducted a comparative analysis of the specific conditions of cross-strait higher education.
