[Academic Achievements]Experts and Scholars Discuss the Yangtze River Economic Belt Development

On March 23, “The Second Yangtze River Economic Belt 30 Forum and Yangtze River Economic Belt Research New Book Launch”, which was jointly organized by China Institute for Main Function Area Strategy of Wuhan University, Center for Regional Economics Research at Wuhan University, and Yangtze River Economic Development Research Institute of Yangtze River, was held at Wuhan University.

At the forum, two research works concerning the Yangtze River economic belt were also launched:The Yangtze River Economic Belt Industry Blue Book: Yangtze River Economic Belt Industry Development Report (2018)andGolden Waterway: Yangtze River Economic Belt. In addition, journal editors and author exchange meeting was held.

The Yangtze River Economic Belt Industry Blue Book: Yangtze River Economic Belt Industry Development Report (2018)was jointly published by China Institute for Main Function Area Strategy of Wuhan University, Center for Regional Economics Research at Wuhan University, and Yangtze River Economic Development Research Institute of Yangtze River. The book is divided intofiveparts, namely general report, industrial development report, service industry development report, other special reports, and the appendix. A total of 17 research reports and 5 appendix material are included. This book adopts multiple perspectives and various methods to evaluate the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Industry.

The bookGolden Waterway: Yangtze River Economic Beltfocuses on the key tasks of the development and construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the new era, exploring issues such as the ecological environment protection of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the development of ecological civilization, the layout of the main functional areas, the promotion of new urbanization, and the construction of a comprehensive opening up pattern etc.
