[Work Deployment] Wuhan University Held the 2019 Liberal Arts Research Work Arrangement Meeting

It was learned from the 2019 liberal arts research work meeting held on February 18 that in 2019, the two major focuses of WHU's liberal arts research work were: building high-level academic teams and cultivating outstanding project achievements.

Shen Zhuanghai, deputy secretary of the university’s party committee, heads and secretaries in charge of scientific research of various liberal arts schools (departments), the Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base of Ministry of Education, and scientific research institutions attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the head of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences summarized the humanities and social science research work in 2018 and arranged work for 2019.

In 2018, the humanities and social sciences research work of our university was guided by the principle of quality and innovation, and strengthened the construction of the liberal arts talent teams and the interdisciplinary platform. All aspects of the work have made good progress. In 2019, the focus of humanities and social science research work includes five aspects: building high-level academic teams, planning interdisciplinary platform, pooling strategic resources for liberal arts, implementing academic engine programs, and deepening academic exchanges. In 2019, our university will also hold working meeting on philosophy and social sciences, and formulate the "Wuhan University Strategic Action Plan for Philosophy and Social Sciences for 2035" to promote the development of the humanities and social sciences.
