Hu Dekun: China is the Real Defender of International Law

On July 14, CCTV program "Network News Broadcast" invited relevant experts to interpret the White Paper issued by the State Council Information OfficeChina Adheresto Resolvethe Dispute Between Chinaand Philippinesinthe South China Sea Through Negotiations. Dean of the Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies Hu Dekun was interviewed for that matter.

In the program "Network News Broadcast", Professor Hu Dekun said the white paper restored the historical truth based on sufficient facts, and also enabled people to realize that the essence of the dispute between China and Philippine was territorial dispute, or to be more specific, maritime rights and interests dispute brought by territory, and tribunal court has no right of jurisdiction and arbitration. Therefore, the arbitral tribunal was an illegal and invalid ruling.
