On April 16, at the invitation of the academician Li Zhuofen, dean of the Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole of the University of Hong Kong, Professor Wang Zhaopeng from College of Chinese Language and Literature of Wuhan University went to Hong Kong for lecture and delivered an academic lecture at the University of Hong Kong entitled "Scene Investigation and In-depth Reading of Ouyang Xiu’s Ci (a type of classical Chinese poetry)".
Professor Wang Zhaopeng borrows the modern forensic science thinking method, examines the writing scene and performance scene of Ouyang Xiu’s masterpiece "Chao Zhon Cuo", and presents the special geographical environment of Pingshantang in Yangzhou by using satellite photos and images, so that the audience can relate directly with the performance site. He also examines Ouyang Xiu’s physical condition and mental state according to his letters and correspondences at that time, analyzing the impact of health status on the poet’s mind and creativity, thus creating a unique interpretation on the poet's creative psychology and emotional connotation.
