Annual Conference of China Legislative Research Society Held in WHU

    On October 10, Legislative Research Society of China Law Society 2015 Annual Conference was held in our university, hundreds of scholars and personnels of law and legislative around the country attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was "Perfect the Socialist Legal System with Chinese Characteristics with the Constitution as the Core, Deepen Judicial Reform and Legislative Work",participants explored the institutional arrangements and innovation of the Constitution, relevant issues on the implementation of the new Legislation Law, local legislation experience and other major issues.

    In the opening ceremony, Wuhan University President Li Xiaohong briefed the participants on the characteristics and advantages of the long history of the School of Law of Wuhan University. He pointed out that the annual meeting was of great theoretical and practical importance to the improvement of the socialist legal system and the overall promotion of rule of law. Huang Jin, President of China University of Political Science and Vice-President of the China Law Society, said that in the process of promoting the rule of law, legislative reform and theoretical legislative research were presented with new historical opportunities for development. Zhang Chunsheng, director of the Legislative Research Society, specified the issues for this annual conference: to build a socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics, improve supervision of Constitution, legislation and reform, and interconnection between legislation and judicial reform.

    In the keynote speech session, participants delivered their speech on the Party's leadership in legislation, Congress-led legislation and local legislation. Discussions were conducted centering on the topics of “institutional arrangements and Innovation in the implementation of the Constitution”, "Party leadership in Legislation", “local legislation after the amendment of Legislation Law ”, “improve legal system with the Constitution as the core” etc.

    It is learnt that the China Legislative Research Society established in 2010 should aim to promote a close interaction between theorists and legislative personnels of law, thus promoting legislation work.
