Experts Promote the Compilation Work of Marxism Dictionary

    On September 20, the compilation work meeting of Marxism Dictionary (hereinafter referring as Dictionary), which is a major entrusted project of the National Social Science Fund and key project of Wuhan University Collaborative Innovation Center of Marxist Theory and Practice in China, was conducted in Bejing. The editor of the Dictionary Xu Guangchun attended the meeting and made request concerning the arrangement of the upcoming compilation work. The meeting was chaired by the Professor Shen Zhuanghai, who is the director of the Wuhan University Collaborative Innovation Center of Marxist Theory and Practice in China.

    At the meeting, the editors of the compilation work teams reported on the compilation work of the sample entries. Four expert reviewers – Tian Xinming, Zhong Zheming, Sha Jiansun, and Liang Zhu – evaluated these manuscripts and gave their suggestions for further amendments. The experts agreed that the preliminary manuscript preparation had a solid foundation and smooth progression, basically achieving the expected results. But some specific and detailed work still needs to be strengthened, such as the standardization of citation and unified stylistic rules and layout.

    Xu Guangchun affirmed the effectiveness of the compilation work and the importance of the Dictionary, he suggested that the Dictionary occupied an important position in the history of Marxism development in China, therefore we should treat it from a strategic height and with sacred sense of responsibility and mission, we should make the best use of our time and work together to compile the Dictionary so as to make our due contribution as Marxist theorists. According to the plan, the first draft of the book will be completed by the end of 2015, and published in 2017. (Guangming Daily reporter  Wang Simin)
