Associate Professor Benoit Mayer Attended the International Symposium on Security and Environment in Paris

On June 8^th, at the invitation of École des hautes études en sciences socials (EHESS), our French faculty member Dr. Benoit Mayer, who recently joined the Institute of International Law , attended the International Symposium on Security and Environment and delivered a keynote speech entitled The implications of the securitization of climate change.

 With reference to the theory of complex interdependence, the associate professor held that countries should conduct long-term cooperation on common environmental issues to offset the effects of climate change to the international security.
