(Reported by: Wang Jiabao) Professor Li Yong from the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University has recently published a new English monograph titled Confucian Comparative Political Philosophy, released globally by the prestigious academic publisher Routledge. This is Professor Li’s second monograph published by Routledge, following his 2022 book Moral Partiality.
This book offers a comparative analysis between Confucian political philosophy and contemporary Western political philosophy within the tradition of analytical philosophy. It focuses on key topics such as methodology in comparative political philosophy, equality, democracy, rights, perfectionism, and global justice. The work systematically reviews major debates within contemporary Confucian comparative political philosophy and argues that studying traditional Confucian political thought provides a critical perspective on core Western political concepts. The book serves as an important reference for scholars in Confucian political philosophy and comparative philosophy and contributes to the global discourse on these topics.
Routledge, founded in 1836 and headquartered in London, is a globally renowned academic publisher in the humanities and social sciences. As part of the Taylor & Francis Group, Routledge is known for its rigorous peer review process, professional editing standards, and high-quality book design.
