(Reported by Zhang Yangpan, Wang Yike, and Dong Li) From May 14 to 15, the Second Forum on Digital Intelligence Education Integration between Secondary and Higher Education Institutions, hosted by Wuhan University, was held with nearly one hundred high school principals from across the country attending. The forum explored innovative models and future directions for talent cultivation in the digital intelligence era.
Wuhan University Vice President Lu Wei attended the event and delivered an address. He highlighted that Wuhan University is leveraging its top-tier disciplines to lead digital transformation in higher education by publishing a white paper on digital intelligence education, founding the Digital Intelligence Education Innovation Alliance, implementing the “Digital Intelligence+” talent training program, and developing the “1+16+N” curriculum system. He emphasized the university's “three-level special zone” model for nurturing top talents and the “3+X” secondary–higher education integration project. Seven university-level integrtion courses have been launched, including Introduction to Artificial Intelligence, which alone has benefited over 500 high school students. He expressed hope for deeper inter-school cooperation and sincerely invited high schools to recommend outstanding students to apply to Wuhan University.
In the keynote session, Wu Yi, Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School and Director of the Admissions Office, delivered a speech titled Empowering Secondary–Higher Education Integration with AI to Cultivate Top Talents, in which he elaborated on the university's initiatives in promoting digital intelligence education. Associate Dean Huang Minxue of the School of Economics and Management, Associate Dean Wu Yu of the School of Artificial Intelligence, and Deputy Director Guo Chi of the Hubei Center for Spatiotemporal Information and Navigation Technology Innovation shared Wuhan University's research achievements in cultivating digital intelligence talents, applying AI technology in education, and integrating the BeiDou Navigation System with smart education.
The forum coincided with the 2025 World Digital Education Conference. As the only designated on-site observation point for higher education, Wuhan University hosted the Hubei Higher Education Digitalization Achievement Exhibition. Attendees visited the exhibition to experience firsthand the profound changes brought about by digital and intelligent technologies to higher education, and to explore new scenarios, concepts, infrastructure, and paradigms in smart education. In addition, forum participants observed the National Innovation Competition for Digital Intelligence Education for university faculty, also hosted by Wuhan University.
