On May 8, Wuhan University hosted the Frontier Forum on “Humanities and Social Sciences in the Digital-Intelligence Era: Paradigms and Challenges.” Professor Qiu Zeqi, Boya Distinguished Professor of Peking University, delivered a keynote speech titled “The Future Landscape of Humanities Intelligence.”
In his speech, Qiu focused on the restructuring of knowledge production paradigms and proposed reform paths for humanities education under technological disruption. During the Q&A session, he addressed pressing questions such as the value of humanities education in the AI era, sparking lively discussion among attendees.
Feng Guo, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Wuhan University, pointed out in his opening remarks that information technology is profoundly reshaping modes of thinking and academic ecosystems. The forum aimed to explore new development paths for the humanities in the digital-intelligence era and promote a transition from traditional research models to human-machine collaborative innovation.
More than 60 research leaders and key personnel from humanities and related institutions participated in the event. This forum, hosted by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, is the third in a series themed “Humanities and Social Sciences in the Digital-Intelligence Era.” The previous two forums focused on “Current Situation and Paths Forward” and “Action and Vision.”
