On October 31, 2024, the 2nd Luojia Young Scholars Interdisciplinary Forum of 2024 was held in Room 202 at the School of Marxism, Wuhan University. Over 20 young scholars from Wuhan University attended the forum, along with Feng Guo, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Zhang Quanyou, Secretary of the School of Marxism. The forum was chaired by Zhou Ke, Deputy Director of the Academic Services Office at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences.
In his opening remarks, Dean Feng expressed three hopes: first, that the forum would ignite intellectual sparks through scholarly exchange; second, that it would provide a platform for young scholars to interact and grow; and third, that interdisciplinary dialogue would offer solutions and insights for addressing societal challenges during rapid transformation.
Five young scholars from Wuhan University’s 7th batch of humanities and social sciences academic teams delivered speeches.
Associate Professor Fang Yingfeng from the team of "Research on International Communication of Modern Civilization and Promotion of Cultural Soft Power" delivered a speech titled "Bridging Urban-Rural Divides: Intergenerational Structural Mobility and Social Change in the Context of Chinese Modernization"
Associate Professor Li Xuetao from the team of "Research on the Theory and Practice of the CPC Leaders' Exploration of Chinese modernization" gave a speech titled “Capital Accumulation of Chinese Industrialization: An Institutional History Analysis".
The speech by Associate Professor Qiu Ye from the team of "Monitoring and Evaluation System for Rural Revitalization Policy Implementation and Institutional Development" was titled "The Structure of County and Township Fiscal Allocation and the Production of Impression-Oriented Performance”.
In the second half of the forum, Xia Shouzhi, a young scholar from the team of "State Theory Research in the Context of China's Experience", delivered a speech titled "Digitally Driven Trust Accumulation: How Government Data Openness Influences Public Trust."
Lecturer Wang Binfan from the team of "Comparative Studies on Democracy in China and the West" delivered a speech titled "Exploring a Chinese Approach to Global Governance: Reflections from the Perspective of the 'Tianxia' Concept."
It is reported that the Luojia Interdisciplinary Forum for Young Scholars was established in 2006 with the aim of fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and exchange, leveraging key talents to unite young scholars and amplify Wuhan University's voice. This forum is the second session of the 2024 Luojia Interdisciplinary Forum for Young Scholars, themed "“Chinese Modernization: Thoughts and Reflection on Institution and Civilization", and is organized by the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University.
