Now a Cheung Kong Scholar Professor at Wuhan University, the Director of Institute of International Law (Director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Center under Ministry of Education), Zeng also concurrently serves as the Vice-chair of the Steering Committee of Law Discipline Teaching under the Ministry of Education, an expert in the Appraisal Team of National Social Science Fund, President of European Law Research Society of Chinese Association for European Studies, the Vice President of Chinese Society of International Economic Law, Vice President of Chinese Association of International Law, the Vice President of WTO Law Research Society of China Law Society, the President of International Law Research Society of Hubei Provincial Law Society and the President of Macao Association for European Studies. In addition, he also assumes such posts as an external auditor for Social Sciences in China, an editorial member of European Studies and Macao Journal of Law, as well as an honorary editorial member of European Law Journal and Chinese Journal of International Law, etc.
He has long been engaged in the teaching and research work of International Law, and is regarded as a pioneer for study on WTO Law and EU Law in China. His representative works include A Study of the Major Forefront International Legal Issues in China’s Peaceful Development, An Overviewof EU Law --- From the New Perspective of European Constitutional Treaty, International Law and China at the Dawn of the 21st Century, World Trade Organization Law, and European Community and the Modern International Law, etc. He has published dozens of papers in Social Sciences in China, Xinhua Digest, China Social Sciences Digest, Chinese Journal of Law, China Legal Science, World Economics and Politics, European Law Journal, European Law Journal, Frontiers of Law in China and other domestic and foreign journals. Moreover, he has won many honors and awards, such as the 1stPrize in the National Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award, the 2nd Prize in the Second National College Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award, the title of National Top Ten Yong and Middle-aged Jurists, the 2ndPrize (1995) and the 3rdPrize (2002) in Hubei Humanities and Social Sciences Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award, the 1st Prize (2009) in the National College Scientific Research Achievement Award (in Humanities and Social Sciences), the 2nd Prize in Qian Duansheng Law Research Achievement Award (ministerial-level)
