Institute of Environmental Law

The Research Institute of Environmental Law (RIEL) of WuhanUniversity is the premier institution in China dedicated to the study of environmental and resources law and policy. Its scholars are internationally-recognized and involved in dozens of environmental projects at the international, national, provincial and local levels to study, draft and revise laws and regulations. They have published 100s of articles and books in this area at home and abroad. In addition, alumni of RIEL serve in important governmental and academic positions throughout the People’s Republic ofChina (PRC). Faculty of RIEL teach undergraduate students, masters (post-graduate) students, and doctoral students, with RIEL having the largest number of doctoral students in environmental law in China.
