[Academic Achievements] "Sociological Study" Publishes Important Research Results in the Field of Big Data Research at the School of Sociology

In the third issue of "Sociological Study" in 2023 published important research results from the School of Sociology in the field of big data and digital society research. Based on internet big data from platforms such as Twitter and GDELT, the article focuses on analyzing the characteristics and underlying mechanisms of the evolution of social emotions in major epidemic outbreak areas worldwide during the pandemic. The research findings have important reference significance for emergency management and guiding social mentality in the context of major epidemics.

The innovation of the research methodology lies in the text data mining based on cloud computing and artificial intelligence algorithms such as BERT. It fully displays the changes in the public's emotional experiences in major epidemic outbreak areas worldwide from the end of 2019 to June 2022, based on nearly 2.7 billion tweets and over 300 million global news articles.
