[Work Progress]International Confucian Association Visits Wuhan University for Research

On December 1st, a delegation of four members led by Vice President Niu Xiping of the International Confucian Association visited our university for research and discussion. Vice President Zhu Deyou, a member of the Party Committee, attended the meeting, and Professor Fang Qing, Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, presided over the meeting.

Vice President Zhu Deyou introduced the 130-year history of Wuhan university and outlined the situation of the development of humanities and social sciences disciplines, talent teams, high-end platforms, research achievements, and contributions of think tanks. He emphasized that Wuhan University is a key institution in the research of Confucianism and traditional Chinese culture with profound accumulation and distinctive features. He expressed the hope for strengthened exchanges and cooperation to contribute jointly to the inheritance and innovation of culture, cultural exchange, and the development of modern Chinese civilization.

Vice President Niu Xiping congratulated our university on its 130th anniversary of establishment, highly commending Wuhan University's achievements in Confucian studies. He introduced the mission and objectives of the International Confucian Association, along with details about the organization, high-level activities, and external exchanges. He expressed the hope that this research visit could serve as an opportunity to deepen the understanding of Wuhan University's Confucian studies and strengthen collaboration and exchanges between the two parties. Deputy Secretary-General Xu Yongji of the International Confucian Association briefly outlined the composition and development of its membership, encouraging relevant units and scholars from Wuhan University to actively join the International Confucian Association, collectively contributing to the establishment of a shared human civilization.

It is noteworthy that the International Confucian Association is one of the earliest international social organizations established in China. It has gathered academic groups, experts, and scholars engaged in Confucianism and traditional cultural research from more than 80 countries and regions worldwide, playing an active role in promoting Confucian culture, intercultural learning, and the progress of human civilization.
