On September 26, 2022, Professor Zhao Shuming, a senior professor of humanities and social sciences at Nanjing University, was visited to the "Luojia Forum" to deliver an academic lecture on "Human Resource Management in the Digital Economy" to teachers and students of Wuhan University. Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, awarded Professor Zhao Shuming the Memorial Certificate of Luojia Forum. Tao Jun, Vice Dean of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University, Jiang Xingli, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, Huang Minxue, Vice Dean and Li Qingyuan attended the lecture, and Huang Minxue presided over the lecture.
Professor Zhao Shuming pointed out that digital economy has brought about changes in management concept, management mode and operation mode, he introduced the characteristics of digital economy, and looked into to the direction of digital transformation. He pointed out that digitalization will create a new way of life and way of production by putting people first. He summarized the changes brought to enterprises by the digital economy from three aspects: the enterprise, the relationship between the enterprise and its employees, and employees. He took the organizational change of Haier Group as a case to show these changes. He emphasized that the organizational structure of the enterprise must adapt to the enterprise strategy, and the enterprise strategy must adapt to the internal and external environment.
Professor Zhao Shuming elaborated his thinking on the transformation of human resource management in the digital economy. The development of management theory and practice is longing for a new management discipline. The transformation of human resources management should realize the rapid matching of human resources and customer needs, organizational capacity planning and personnel empowerment management, value creation, and create sustainable benefit. Professor Zhao also put forward eight topics of human resource management in the digital economy, including "how the digital economy changes the employment mode and working environment", "how the digital economy changes the nature and position of work", and "ethical issues arising from human resource management under the digital economy".
Professor Zhao answered questions raised by the teachers and students present and shared with them how to promote the research, teaching and management practice of human resource management in the digital economy. Professor Li Yanping of Wuhan University summarized the lecture and pointed out that the lecture played an important role in promoting the research, teaching and talent cultivation of human resource management in our university.
Professor Zhao Shuming is a senior professor of humanities and social sciences of Nanjing University, honorary dean of Nanjing University Business School, dean of Xingzhi College of Nanjing University, and academic leader of national key discipline of enterprise management of Nanjing University. He is also the vice chairman of the National Administry Committee on Business Administration under the Ministry of Education, the third chairman of the International Association for Chinese Management Research, the vice chairman of the Chinese Academy of Management, the vice chairman of the Chinese Association of Human Resource Development, and the honorary chairman of the Jiangsu Human Resources Society.
