Recently, Professor Zhang Lin from the School of Information Management of WHU was hired as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the internationally renowned academic journal Scientometrics.
It is learnt that Scientometrics was founded by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1978. It is the earliest and largest journal in the field of international scientometrics and information metrology, and it is also one of the most influential journals in this field. The journal is a dual indexed journal of SCI and SSCI. It is now jointly published by the internationally renowned publishing house Springer Nature and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Press (Akadémiai Kiadó). There are 12 issues per year, which mainly publishes the latest research results of theory and practice in the fields of scientometrics, information metrology, science and technology evaluation and science and technology policy. The latest JCR impact factor is 3.238, and the CiteScore impact factor is 5.2.
Zhang Lin has long been engaged in the research of such related fields as scientometrics, science and technology evaluation, and science and technology policy. She is currently a director of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informatics (ISSI), the first Chinese director of the Society. Since 2018, she has been Associate Editor of Scientometrics. Due to her outstanding performance in this position, the journal and publishing houses have sent her an invitation to serve as the Co-Editor-in-Chief. Starting from January 2022, Zhang Lin and Professor Wolfgang Glänzel of the University of Leuven, Belgium, will serve as the editor-in-chief of the Journal together. Professor Wolfgang Glänzel is the Chairman of ISSI and the winner of the "The Derekde Solla Price Award", the highest international honor in the field of scientometrics and informetrics.
