WHU and the People's Government of Guizhou Province Jointly Host the Themed Forum of Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2021

On the morning of July 12, the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2021 opened. Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, and Qin Tianbao, Director of the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University, were invited to attend the opening ceremony. In the afternoon, the "Ecological Civilization and Rule of Law Themed Forum" co-sponsored by our university and the People's Government of Guizhou Province was held at the Guiyang International Ecological Conference Center. This forum is one of the 22 themed forums of the Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2021.

On the afternoon of the 12th, the "Ecological Civilization Rule of Law: Biodiversity Protection and Biosafety Governance" themed forum was held. The forum is chaired by Shen Zhuanghai and Qin Tianbao as executive chairman. The purpose of this forum is to discuss in depth the use of rule of law thinking and methods to provide legal protection for biodiversity protection and biosafety governance, and to gather the wisdom of colleagues, experts and scholars at home and abroad to promote international exchanges and cooperation of scientific research, legal research and legal practice in the field of biodiversity.

Ben Boer, a distinguished professor of Wuhan University, gave a keynote speech on the "Biodiversity Conservation Law and the Need for Reform at the National Level".

Under the host of Li Xiaokun, Vice President of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences of Wuhan University, the Legislative Committee of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Guizhou Province, the High People’s Court of Guizhou Province, the Department of Justice of Guizhou Province and the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University signed the “Strategic Cooperation Agreement on the Construction of Rule of Ecological Law".
