The 2019 International Top School of Information Alliance Annual Conference (iConference 2019) was held in Washington, DC, USA from March 31st to April 3rd. Fang Qing, Dean of the School of Information Management, and Huang Ruhua, Vice Deanof the School of Information Management, led a total of 25 students and teachers from the School of Information Management toattendthe conference. They conducted in-depth academic exchanges with experts and scholars in the field of informationmanagement, and our university sent the largest group of conference participants this time.
The theme of this year's iConference is “Inform, Include, Inspire”.Hosted by the University of Maryland, College Park,iConference attracted about 600 registered scholars. The conferenceis rich and colorful in activities andexchanges. And two more activities were added to the program this year, namely the undergraduate forum and the Blue Sky Papers, which isdesigned to provide referenceresearchfor the iSchools research team.2 complete papers, 2 short papers, and 12 postersfrom ourSchool of Information Managementhave been selected by the conference. The poster of Professor Deng Shengli “The Economic Value of Personal Information under the Situation of Information Leakage” and Professor Zhou Lihong's poster “Leaving No One Behind: Preparing China's Public Librarians for Providing Multicultural Services to Ethnic Minorities” were selectedasthe best 5candidates. Professor Wu Danpresided over the sub-forum “Information Behaviors in Academic Environments”.
During the iDeans Meeting, Professor Jiang Tingting and Professor Wu Dan from the School of Information Managementgave reports onthe selection of LIS core journals and the data science project of iSchools, and their presentationswere well-received.
