[Latest News] The Opening Ceremony of the "Belt and Road·Hubei" International Seminar was Held in WHU

On the morning of May 14th, the opening ceremony of the "Belt and Road, Hubei" International Seminar hosted by the People's Government of Hubei Province, Wuhan University and the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission, was held at the auditorium of Wuhan University's New Library.

Vice President Li Fei addressed the opening ceremony. He said that since General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (namely the "Belt and Road" Initiative) in the autumn of 2013 in Kazakhstan and Indonesia, more than 100 countries and international organizations worldwide have actively supported and participated in the construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, this initiative has also been incorporated into some important decisions made by the UN General Assembly, the UN Security Council etc. The construction of the “Belt and Road” has gradually been transformed from concept to action. Since its implementation, Wuhan University has taken a variety of measures to vigorously promote exchanges and cooperation with countries along the “Belt and Road”.

A total of 150 plus representatives attended the opening ceremony, including more than 20 officials and entrepreneurs from Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, representatives of domestic scholars, entrepreneurs, media, and representatives of international students along the “Belt and Road” from Wuhan University.
