Wuhan University Held Work Meeting of Liberal Arts for the Second Half of 2017

In the morning of September 27, 2017, Wuhan University held a work meeting of liberal arts for the second half of 2017. Shen Zhuanghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee of WHU, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Heads of Schools of the liberal arts (department), Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry Of Education, scientific research institutions and secretaries in charge of scientific research all attended the meeting.

In the first half of 2017, research works of the humanities and social sciences have made good progress in all aspects though quality development and innovation. In the second half of this year, in order to further the research work of humanities and social sciences, we should seize opportunities in promoting sustainable development capacity building, constructing social science talent system, integrating resources and research platform, cultivating major projects and landmark achievements, and strengthening academic journals cooperation. Wu Yan, Deputy Director of Project Development and Achievements Management Department of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences in Wuhan University, interpreted the newly implementedWuhan University Humanities and Social Sciences Research Results Management Measures andWuhan University Philosophyand Social Science Overseas Project Management Measures.

In his speech, Shen Qianghai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, pointed out that liberal arts is the traditional advantage of Wuhan University, we must be sober-minded about the challenges and opportunities faced by liberal arts, build a high level team of liberal arts talent by considering "people" as the center, and strengthen the awareness of competition and innovation.
