Population and health are increasingly influential as an international academic topic, and gaining an advantage in this academic field will help us to better conduct international academic dialogue. Since its inception, "Population and Health Young Scholar Innovation Team" of Wuhan University is committed to mastering the advanced overseas research methods, spreading overseas research results, and promoting international academic dialogue.
The team brought young teachers together from the Wuhan University School of Health Science, School of Philosophy, School of Economics and Management, School of Political Science and Public Management and other schools, Wang Peigang is the team responsible person.
Over the past five years, the team members published more than 20 articles in SSCI journals alone, many of which are ESI most cited papers. The team has held five series of lectures on population and health, and will also present a special report at the 49thAsia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health in August 2017.
The team has promoted the translation and publication of "world population and health classics". Six books have been translated and published so far, namelySocial Capital and Health from the Global Perspective, Globalization, Immigration and Health: Challenges and Opportunities, Public Health and Aging, Population Health Sciences, Services of Vulnerable Groups: Behavior Healthy hot issues, Palliative Care.
Team member Wang Peigang, Cai Yi, Sun Yang, Zhang Jun and He Qiqiang served as the main translator or translated some content of the above six books. Those books were originally published by Springer Publishing House, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press in recent five years, thus reflecting the lastest progress in the development of relevant areas.
