"Chinese Traditional Culture Forum" was Held in our University

 

On February 22, "Chinese Traditional Culture Forum", which was co-organized by the Wuhan University Traditional Chinese Culture Research Center and Cultural Soft Power of Collaborative Innovation Center, was held in Wuhan.


Under the theme of "Traditional Chinese Morality," scholars conducted in-depth discussion from the perspectives of Chinese moral philosophy, Confucian virtues, modern transformation of traditional moral.


Humanities and Social Sciences senior professor Feng Tianyu said that in the course of two thousand years of civilization, Confucian ethics and the traditional Chinese political, social and cultural structure interacted with and complemented one another.


Professor Yang Hua, deputy dean of the School of History, pointed out that in legal level, there has been severe punishment of “impiety” sin from Qin Dynasty to the Han and Tang Dynasties. Traditional Chinese filial piety has been passed down from generation to generation, and this is not only the result advocating Confucianism, but also the result of the State (law) and social interaction (etiquette).


Professor Guo Qiyong, dean of the School of Chinese Classics, believes that Confucian morality and virtues are still great reference for people to cultivate themselves and for the construction of civil society.
