Professor Gu Shengzu Attended the Third Urban Development Forum

On May 24^th, Professor Gu Shengzu attended the Third Urban Development Forum organized by the China National Democratic Construction Association and delivered a keynote speech entitled New Wave of Startups and Innovation and New Type of Urbanization.

Professor Gu pointed out that high-speed urbanization calls for startups because they could propel employment to form industrial support, realize citizenship and promote the integration of industry and cities to ward off empty city, ghost city and indebted city. He also held that reform and innovation are breeding a new wave of startups. Government streamlining and the commercial business reforms stimulate a hike in new market entities. The new generation of information technologies and Internet financial development lead a boom in new Internet startups, hi-tech zones and science parks are generating new waves of alliance startups, and M&A activities are urging the rising of “professional start-up entrepreneurs”.  ( Institute of Development Strategy)
