Born in 1966 in Macheng City of Hubei Province,Xiao Yongping is now the Dean of the School of Law at Wuhan University. Xiao graduated from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in 1988, from which time to 1993, he studied Private International Law at the WHU School of Law where he received theDoctor’s Degree in Law and later became a professor. He was a visiting scholar in America Harvard University (1998), German Max-Planck-Institut (2000) and the University of Birmingham (2006).
His main research fields include International Conflict Law, International Trade Law and International Commerce Arbitration Law.
