[Project News] Wang Tao: "Study on the International Development Strategy of Strategic Emerging Industries"

The Major Philosophy and Social Sciences Research Project of the Ministry of Education “Study on the International Development Strategy of Strategic Emerging Industries”, headed by Professor Wang Tao from the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University, was approved in August 2014. The research team focused on research topics and after more than three years of in-depth research, they have achieved fruitful results and successfully completed the project in January 2018. Based on the research topic “Marketing Strategy Research of Chinese Enterprises Brand under the Globalization and Network Environment”, Professor Wang Tao successfully obtained another funding from 2015 National Natural Science Foundation of China's Key Projects.

The research content of the project mainly focuses on three aspects. The first is the in-depth analysis of the status quo of China's strategic emerging industries. The second is strategic choice for the internationalization of strategic emerging industries. Third, the influence of environmental factors in the development of strategic emerging industries.

The academic value of research results is mainly reflected in the following three aspects. The first is to conduct a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the international development of China's strategic emerging industries and build a basic theoretical framework of strategic emerging industries internationalization strategy based on the national conditions of China. Second, in response to the problems existing in the international development of China's strategic emerging industries, the project has built a strategic and theoretical system for the internationalization of China's strategic emerging industries from four dimensions of enhancing innovation capabilities, expanding international markets, optimizing industrial chains, and internal and external collaboration. Third, from the perspective of macroscopic dynamics, the project has constructed a strategic implementation theory for the development of China's strategic emerging industries.

In terms of practical value, there are mainly three applications. The first is to help clarify the development trend and direction of the internationalization of China's strategic emerging industries and draw up an international strategic plan. The second is to help grasp the strategic focus of the international development of China's strategic emerging industries and improve its international competitiveness. Third, it is conducive to the formation of strategic implementation measures for the development of China’s strategic emerging industries and provides guidance for action.

This project relies on the School of Economics and Management of Wuhan University and Research Center for Organizational Marketing of Wuhan University to form a research team composed of domestic and foreign experts and scholars. The project superintendent is mainly responsible for the implementation of the project and the research direction. At the same time, a discussion and communication mechanism within the research team was established to solve difficulties of the project and better facilitate the research work.
