Recently, Edward Eglar Publishing published the monographConflict of Laws in the People’s Republic of China, which was composed by Professor Xiao Yongping, director of the Wuhan University Institute of International Law – a national top-level think tank. This book is the result among the first batch Chinese Academic Translation Project approved by the National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Office (11WFX001).
According to China's latest legislative, judicial interpretation and cases of Chinese court, this book summarizes and refines Chinese experience and the Chinese model; it explores in depth the direction of China's future reform of the international private law. The book adopts the customary theoretical system and academic norms of Anglo-American conflict of laws, thus presenting the theory, system and practice of Chinese conflict of laws in a way that is familiar to Western scholars.
