In June, Climate Law in Finland and China: Outlines of European and Chinese Climate Change Mitigation and Energy Efficiency Regulation, a book jointly compiled by the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University, University of Helsinki, Finland and Aalto University, got published by Aalto University Press.
In early 2012, Professor Qin Tianbao from the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University and Professor Ari Ekroos from the University of Helsinki reached an agreement, and their cooperation project entitled A Comparative Study of China-Finland (Europe) Climate Law and Energy Efficiency Legislation was approved by Academy of Finland. This China-Finland cooperation aims to promote mutual learning in law and policy as well as common progress in protecting environmental rights and enhancing sustainable development. This cooperation has lasted for two years and a year, the two sides have conducted 5 formal academic seminars and over 10 times of informal discussions, a series achievements have been delivered in terms of comparative studies in climate law and energy efficiency legislation between China and Finland. This book entitled Climate Law in Finland and China: Outlines of European and Chinese Climate Change Mitigation and Energy Efficiency Regulation was one important result of this academic exchanges and also a significant initial result of Wuhan University Institute of Environmental Law in implementing internationalization strategy. This book was well received upon publication, and was regarded as “the most detailed English book in terms of China-Finland environmental law and energy efficiency legislation”.
